Winter is gradually on the way, so here are some "ice cool" idioms.

1. “take a chill pill” |
Meaning:
When someone wants you to relax or calm down they will say this.
Example:
“Sometimes you are just too crazy. Can't you just take a chill pill?”.

2. “cold shoulder” |
Meaning:
To get ignored by someone. To be treated in a cold, unfriendly way.
Example:
“My girlfriend had been giving me the cold shoulder since I forgot her birthday last week”.

3.“cold turkey” |
Meaning:
To suddenly stop having something that you love, and the uncomfortable feeling that this results in.
Example:
“I have had enough bubble milk tea, it is too unhealthy. Starting from tomorrow I will be going cold turkey”.

4. “snowball effect” |
Meaning:
Something small that will grow bigger rapidly over time.
Example:
“The hardest part is starting. Once you start it is like the snowball effect, you will gradually become more productive”.

5. “when hell freezes over” |
Meaning:
You believe something is impossible.
Example:
“Flying pigs? I'll believe that when hell freezes over”.
