1. “hit the jackpot”

Meaning:
To have sudden or unexpected success.
Example:
“Wow! There was a big sale at the store. I hit the jackpot!”

2. “silver lining”

Meaning:
A positive outlook on a difficult situation.
Example:
“I lost my phone but, the silver lining is I don’t have to answer any calls!”

3.“saving grace”

Meaning:
A good thing that fixes an otherwise bad situation.
Example:
“Her phone died but a stranger was her saving grace and lent her his phone.”

4. “to luck out”

Meaning:
To have good luck.
Example:
“It is so crowded today, we really lucked out by finding a parking space.”

5. “knock on wood”

Meaning:
You hope that something bad will not happen.
Example:
“It might rain, but knock on wood it doesn’t because I love the sunshine.”
